Soccer Betting and Winning

When you want to do some soccer betting, there are many things you need to consider before laying your money down. A wise man will hold on to his money by being the smartest man in the wager. Those who pick with their heart are only setting themselves up for heartache. You need to take your time and analyze as many aspects of the game as you can before you put your money down. Maybe you don’t have access to the amount of information as some insiders but with the right questions and time management you can definitely have further insight. Here are a few things to consider first and foremost.

What is the caliber of talent on the two teams? Obviously if the game matches a last place team against the team currently occupying first then this question is easy to answer. The only exception would be a team that is much better than they are playing. If a team has historically been near the top of the standings but are currently in a funk that has caused them to sit near the bottom then they should not be treated as a true last place team. However if you are dealing with two teams who occupy similar rankings in the standings you will need to dig a little deeper. Try to find out how these two teams have done in previous seasons if one routinely finishes higher than the other than you may have your first tip?

Injuries; a wounded player can be a teams downfall, especially if that player is one of the squads biggest stars. Often if a player is very important to his team he will play while injured. In a situation like this teams will go to great lengths to hide the injury. Look at how a player has been playing in recent games as an indicator. Should he be moving slower or playing ineffective overall, that could be an indicator that he is hurt and you should capitalize on his anguish by betting against his team. If any player, especially a goal keeper is sitting out with injury that is a great opportunity to place a bet and capitalize until they can return to health.

The two teams’ histories against one another, such as Manchester United and Chelsea are a key thing to look at when deciding who to put your money on. Sometimes one team can just have another’s number. Even if it’s a team with multiple championships if a lower ranked team always seems to emerge victorious when they square off then you have got a bet. Perhaps certain positions that are deep with talent on one team are shallow on the other and when they meet that is exploited. Whatever the reason history tends to repeat itself in soccer and this can be a valuable fact for betting on soccer.

Although all of this information may not always be available theses are good places for you to start. Theses are just some of the questions you should have answered before money changes hands. You should also find out for yourself any other information you think may affect the games outcome. Sweet NCAA Basketetball Predictions

On we go to the NCAA Basketball Sweet 16. Coming off a furious four days of action, I find some of my predictions held up, and a few unfortunately didn’t, but I’m doing great in a couple of my brackets.

As an alumni of Mizzou, I admit I’m pretty hard on them. They managed to survive Marquette, albeit nearly blowing a sizable half-time lead in the process, and now face big, bad Memphis. So, do I have a newfound belief in the Tigers’ chances? No, I don’t. In fact, I’m picking Memphis to win by at least a dozen. Expect the line to be less, so I’d say Memphis is a strong bet outside of bracket play.

I will, however, give props and maybe a small college basketball bet on my hated rival, the Jayhawks. They look great, and I’d expect them to not only hold their own against higher-seeded MSU, but take them out to advance to the Elite 8. I predict Kansas will even be the favorites going into this by a 2 or 3-point margin. It’ll be a close game, but I think Kansas will pull it out by 5-6 points. And Kansas won’t stop there, they’ll upset Louisville, as well, and prevent another year of all four #1’s making it to the final four.

That’s right, expect UConn Huskies, Pitt and UNC to all handle their business and advance through the next two rounds. Purdue barely squeaked by Washington, and I have a feeling their tank is about out of gas, UNC should blow by them and then win a respectable 7-8 point victory of Memphis to get their spot.

UNC will have the most trouble for the sports gambling pro, but I think their underrated defense will bolster the offense and carry them over Gonzaga. They’ll then face a tough but vulnerable Oklahoma team that just isn’t as good as they think they are. Griffin or no Griffin, this isn’t a Final Four team this year.

Pitt faces a tough road, too, but my pre-tournament prediction to be the National Champs just needs to keep playing the ball that carried them to their current 30-4 record and they should pass by overachieving Xavier. That Nova/Duke game is too close to call, but I’m going with Nova in an upset. After crushing UCLA, I think Nova’s confidence might just give them the edge here.

A Little House in a Big World

When it comes to online casinos, there is really big line up to choose from. Believe it or not, however, online is not where the casino started it all. The casino actually had its beginnings in Switzerland in 1765 when the first legal casino in the world opened up. That is not to say that the casino isn’t much younger than even that. Gambling houses such as GoCasino have always been present all the way back to the B.C. eras. Casino is actually Italian for “little house”. Granted logging into your first online casino can be overwhelming with all excitement but this form of online gambling had much more humble roots.

To touch base on what to expect online game wise, let’s talk about a fraction of some of the online casino rooms have to offer. A great starting point is the Wheel of Fortune or the big Six Wheel as some call it. This room offers a small house edge and is one of the worst set ups you will come across. The Wheel of Fortune is an old carnival game from way back when and the set up is a big wheel of course with fifty four slots each one housing a symbol. There are seven symbols $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, a joker, and a casino logo. These are spread around periodically on each of the fifty four slots. All you have to do is spin the wheel and see where you land. The odds are horrible with this game.

A greatly common game you will see at most casinos is the blackjack table and craps room. The players in this room are always rowdy due partly to the fast paced nature of this game and the fact that it is one of the most exciting games you will come across in a casino. Craps is a dice game built on chance; it is also one of the best games when it comes to odds. So don’t let the crowd in the room keep you away from a great game of chance, go ahead and jump in. You have to sink before you can float. Players beware though when playing games like Blackjack and Let it Ride. Never ask for the dealer’s advice, not all dealers are as friendly as they seem. Also, even though the casino makes sure that their dealers are well trained to run their table that does not mean that they are well versed in strategy for the game.

Most casinos such as The Borgata actually offer little lessons on how to play certain games, which make online gambling a lot easier. What is really great about these lessons is they help build confidence when coming into a room. Some even offer nice little perks, like a low bid practice game after the lesson for new players to help pull off the pressure you would otherwise feel jumping into the game with more advanced players. The casino is a little house in a big world after all, don’t let the fast pace of games and confusion put you out.

2010 WorldCup Betting Odds

Now that all thirty-two teams have qualified for the 2010 WorldCup in South Africa it’s time to start looking at what teams have a legitimate shot at winning the event. In past World Cups we have been able to witness some stunning upsets in early rounds and late rounds. This year many people expect the top teams to move forward with ease and not many people have been expecting many upsets, but keep in mind it’s still early.

Most of the online sportsbooks have already posted the odds for the outright winner of the 2010 World Cup. Generally if you bet on big events like this early you’ll be able to receive the best odds possible on the favourite teams. Once money starts coming in on the favourites you’re going to notice that the odds begin to fall. On the other hand, if you’re going to be betting on some underdog teams you might want to wait until closer to the event in 2010 as the odds may move up.

The favourite to win the World Cup at this point is Spain at 9/2 worldcup odds. I have a feeling that these odds will stay where they are for awhile, but if the books start getting lots of action on Spain you might see the odds fall a bit. The next two teams that the bookies have given a good shot at winning the World Cup are Brazil at 5/1 odds and England at 6/1 odds. There is some definite value in these teams at these odds so if you’re thinking about picking one of them I would think about jumping on the current odds while they’re available.

After the initial three heavy favourites to win the 2010 World Cup there are several teams grouped together with some fairly juicy odds if you like underdogs. You can currently bet on Argentina at 9/1, Germany at 12/1, Italy at 14/1, Holland at 14/1 and France at 15/1. With odds like this you can basically find value in any of these teams. As most of you know, anything can happen in the World Cup and I’m sure the outright favourites will have a run for their money with the teams listed above.

If you’re looking to do some serious world cup betting on a huge underdog at the upcoming 2010 World Cup then you have plenty of options. You can bet on your home country to win the event or you can look at some other nations including Portugal at 18/1, Chile at 45/1, USA at 66/1 and Ghana at 66/1. You can bet on whichever team you would like to route for at the World Cup as the sportsbooks have odds posted for all thirty-two teams. There is no doubt that the 2010 World Cup is going to be a very fun filled time with lots of money being thrown around.

Make sure you analyze the match-ups and make smart bets throughout the event so that you can walk out a winner. As the event becomes closer to kicking off you can expect to find a lot more 2010 World Cup betting odds available apart from picking the outright winner.

When to take Points in Soccer Betting

When betting soccer matches, a bettor can play the soccer odds money line, or they can take points when betting on their favorite soccer team to win. Deciding how to bet a soccer team – by way of the money line or by way of accepting points, is imperative to a soccer bettor’s overall success.

Before making a bet on a soccer team that is the underdog, one must consider a few things. Firstly, is the dog playing at home or on the road? The average home team scores an average of .5 more goals at home than they do on the road. As with any average figure, some teams score more than a half goal per game at home, while other teams score less than .5 more goals at home. So, it is important to know whether your team is above or below the league average in this aspect. If they are playing on the road, know how they perform as visitors.

Additionally, one should consider a team’s current form when deciding how to bet on the underdog. With world cup betting coming this summer, it’s important to remember the underdog can sometimes pull out a victory. Is the dog on a sick run or are they running sick? If the team has been running poorly, are they showing signs of coming out of their slump or do they need some help?

Generally speaking, when betting on a home team that is receiving points, one is best taking the points when betting the home team. Because home teams tend to score more and surrender less home goals, if your team is at home and receiving points, the bettor is best served accepting the points at home.

On the other hand, if the team receiving points is on the road, the soccer bettor at even the best online sportsbook wants to take into consideration the average number of goals scored on the road vs. goals surrendered on the road. Additionally, they will need to look at the opposition’s track record at home. If the points the visitor receives are greater than the average of both sides goal scoring record, the soccer bettor is best off taking the points on the road. However, if the points a team receives are less than the average, the soccer bettor will be best opting for the money line. In this instance, the money line will pay the underdog more money than he has wagered and odds are the goals that are being spotted will not help. The most likely outcome will be that either the dog will win straight up or they will lose even with the points. Thus, the bettor should take the money and not the points.
